The Diploma of Counselling (Processwork) (CHC51015) is a comprehensive and engaging course taught as a combination of live and interactive online tutorials, virtual study groups, and home readings/ assessments. Students all around Australia can study to become a qualified counsellor with us without ever leaving their home.

This one-year course incorporates practical skills-based training practice; the theoretical foundations of Processwork Psychotherapy, contextualised Processwork Counselling Methods; the latest neurobiological developments (theory and skills) for working with trauma/stress effectively; as well as all the requirements of a government accredited Diploma of Counselling (CHC51015).

Our Diploma of Counselling may be taken by either professionals already working in the industry (counselling, mental health and coaching field) who’d like to develop and deepen their skills, as well as new students wanting to develop counselling skills towards commencing work in the counselling and psychotherapeutic field.

This Diploma course covers the information you need to commence work as a counselling practitioner and provides the context, group-learning support and encouragement to develop your self-awareness, alongside your professional skills as you move along this pathway becoming the best counsellor you can be. Pathways Psychology Institute offers the only government accredited Processwork training currently available in Australia.

RESIDENTIAL TRAINING

We have made available the option for Diploma students to attend face-to-face Residential trainings. Students are welcome to attend any or all of the three first year Graduate Diploma Residentials during their Diploma studies. This is NOT A REQUIREMENT. It is an opportunity to deepen and expand your learning, while connecting in person with fellow students both in the Diploma course and the Graduate Diploma course. Many students find they learn much more in these supervised face-to-face practice sessions.

The dates for the three face-to-face 2024 Residentials are:

- Wednesday 20/3/23 - Saturday 23/3/23

- Wednesday 10/7/23 - Saturday 13/7/23

- Wednesday 6/11/23 - Saturday 9/11/23

Times are (approximately):

- Wednesday-Friday 9am-5pm

- Saturday 9am-1pm

Address is:

6 Belbowrie Close, Galston, NSW, 2159. This is on the north-west outskirts of Sydney. Travel time from the airport varies according to traffic (around 1hr).

Nearby Accomodation:

AirBnB; Swami's Retreat; Ingenia Holiday Park.

Cost:

We have carefully considered what the heavily discounted cost will be for the additional option of attending Residentials to Diploma students. The cost to attend these additional and optional trainings is $100 per day of Residential (or $350 per Residential). This is very reasonable given the level of intensive coaching, personal and in-depth additional training that will be provided. If a student chose to attend all three Residetials this would add an additional $1,050 to the cost of the course.

Again: these Residential trainings are an optional extra only. They are not a requirement. You will receive all of the training and learning you need to successfully complete the Diploma whether you choose to add the Residential Trainings or not.
