Following your clients Dreambody

Using information from their dreams and bodily experiences (Processwork Psychotherapy Methods)

Join us for a two-and-a-half-hour experiential workshop where you will learn about Processwork Psychotherapy and its methods of following the signals from your clients dreams and body experiences (their "Dreambody"). This information shows us the pattern directing their deepest tendencies. The session explores how our physical symptoms and early dreams can offer meaningful insight into personal and therapeutic processes.

Topics include:

  • Understanding and applying the concept of the Dreambody

  • Identifying levels of reality; consensus, dreaming and essence

  • Practicing methods for engaging with body symptoms and altered states

  • Exploring therapist substyles and how they emerge from early life dreams

  • Integrating symbolic and somatic processes into clinical practice

The workshop will introduce you to the Dreambody and the work of Arnold Mindell (Processwork Psychotherapy's founder), with skills demonstrations and practice sessions. It includes guided exercises, drawing, discussion and demonstration. Participants will engage in reflective and experiential practices designed to deepen awareness, develop therapeutic flexibility, and work ethically with diversity and complex inner experiences.

You will learn and practice highly applicable skills to use with both your clients, as well as yourself in your own personal life.

During the session, attendees will:

  • Understand the Processwork concept of the Dreambody and how it was developed

  • Recognise how dreams and the body both reveal our underlying dynamics

  • Practice 2 methods for accessing the wisdom of the Dreambody

  • Gain skills and methods for working with your own and clients' dreams

  • Gain skills and methods for working with your own and clients' body experiences

You will leave with insights and the ability to start using these methods in your work.

This course is suitable for registered counsellors, psychotherapists, and mental health professionals interested in trauma-informed, depth-oriented and body-inclusive approaches. No prior experience with Processwork is required. â€‹
